Our Story
The Problem Identified
After 25 years as a corrections officer managing individuals with behavioral challenges and developmental disabilities, our founder recognized a pattern: the right environment transforms lives. Many individuals faced not just developmental disabilities but co-occurring mental health challenges and housing instability. Traditional systems addressed each issue separately, creating gaps, duplication, and frustration.
The Insight
Launching Rocky Mountain Day Service demonstrated the PASA model works—generating $600,000 annually in sustainable operations serving individuals with developmental disabilities. But success revealed a critical gap: individuals with DD + mental health + housing needs fall between systems. PASA providers excel at developmental disability services but cannot provide mental health therapy or housing navigation (different licenses, clinical staff, expertise required).
The Solution
New Destiny fills this gap through a dual approach:
- For Individuals: Integrated mental health, housing, and case management services that complement (not duplicate) PASA developmental disability services
- For Providers: Help families become PASA-certified providers (15,000+ caregivers unaware of this pathway) and support small providers (150+ struggling with compliance/operations) with consulting and back-office services
The Impact Vision
By partnering WITH PASA providers rather than competing, New Destiny creates a true continuum of care. Individuals receive excellent developmental disability services from PASAs AND mental health/housing support from New Destiny—with coordinated care plans and shared success metrics.
